Halloween 2010

We decorated pumpkins before I went in to have Kallen. The little ones loved coloring their pumpkins. Kait decided to carve hers and did a great job. Kait's first time carving and then she cooked the seeds. Very yummy...good job Kait!

I was able to come home from the hospital on the day of our Ward's Trunk-or-Treat. I took the pics while Kaijsa got them all ready. Thank you Kaijsa! Everyone looks fantastic. My cute little fairies and my strong Transformer. They were so excited to go out and get candy. Kam was like, "this is the best halloween ever!" I love my kids. I love Halloween. Tomorrow the community is doing something, we may or may not attend. There was a chili cook-off that the kids enjoyed while I stayed home relaxing with Kallen and Larry. I love my family.

Larry's having a rough time but is resting and trying to get better. Sure hope he can heal fast. He starts physical therapy on Monday.

Kallen Dean Saling Arrives!

Kallen Dean Saling was born on October 26, 2010 at 3:02pm by c-section. He weighed 8 lbs 11 oz and was 20 3/4 inches in length. He has dark hair with blonde highlights that has a touch of red and a bit of a curl to it. The nurses loved his hair and his long eyelashes. He also has 2 dimples!

He was born by c-section due to his size and that he was turned sideways instead of head down. Dr got nervous that I'd go into labor and he wouldn't be ready so c-section we opted for. It went well and I was able to rest for a few days in the hospital before coming home. Larry was able to go into the OR with me despite his infection in his arms. They bundled him up so he wouldn't miss anything and was able to cut the cord. Larry isn't feeling well but was able to see the birth of his 2nd son and last child. Yep, you read that right. I'm/ we're so done with this one. Kallen's pregnancy was a bit harder than the others and I feel ready to be done with having the kids. Now to raising them and moving to the next phase of life. By the end I was measuring 47 weeks pregnant and that was very uncomfortable. I will miss several weeks of work and then back to work I go. I'll enjoy my time home with kids and make the most of this time then back to our routine.

Kallen and I got home in time for halloween which is one of my favorite holidays. We'll get the kids dressed up and then Kal and I will rest at home and sleep. He is a good baby and such a doll. The kids all love him and we're glad he's here safe and sound.

We love you Kallen Dean! We're so glad you're here.

Thank you to all who helped with kids and home while I was gone. I so appreciate all the help and support. Thank you girls for taking care of the house and little ones too. Y'all are a blessing to me.

Larry Dean Update

I don't have any pictures of Larry's arms but they were definitely gross. He came down with another case of MRSA only this time in both arms. They looked like huge boil things and were spidering up his arm. So off to the hospital we went. They put in a central line for the antibiotic and then flew him by helicopter to another hospital further north. He has since had 3 surgeries on his arms I think and possibly 1 more. They are trying to clean out all the infection in his arms and to save his hands. Right now he can't move them b/c of all the infection in there surrounding the tendons and nerves. He's hurting but being a trooper. They are also thinking of looking at his heart to make sure the MRSA hasn't compartmentalized around it to affect it's rhythm. I sure hope not. Heart surgery would be no bueno. We are hoping he's home in time for baby to arrive but playing it all by ear.

I would like to thank our amazing ward for all their help. We are so grateful. Y'all have been amazing. I'd also like to thank the girls for stepping up and helping so much since I'm not much help at the moment.

I was able to take a night off work to spend with Larry and the kids which was nice but now I'll be working longer hours to make up the time. Oh well...Family first.

We love you Larry Dean and hope you get well soon and can come home. We miss you!
